Description
MEDFORD, MA — A proposed amendment to Medford's zoning ordinance allowing for marijuana establishments will go before the Community Development Board Thursday, July 16. The petition, submitted by the City Council, would allow and regulate adult-use marijuana establishments.
The proposal would allow marijuana businesses to operate in Medford with the aim of minimizing the impact to nearby properties. If approved, the new ordinance would establish standards for the "placement, design, siting, safety, security, monitoring, modification and discontinuance of marijuana establishments."
The ordinance would cover all types of marijuana "establishments," including cultivators, craft cooperatives, product manufacturers, micro-businesses, independent testing laboratories, retailers, transporters, research facilities, delivery-only licensees and medical marijuana treatment centers.
