Dine Out at Inn Cahoots in Seven Hills on May 15th from 1pm-4pm to help Wipe Out Cancer. All money raised during the event will go towards Ryan’s Man & Woman of the Year Fundraiser to help find cures for blood cancer. Admission is $20.00 and includes an assorted buffet lunch and five silent auction raffle tickets. The event will also feature 50/50, Silent Auction, and Sideboard Raffles. About the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Man & Woman of the Year Campaign: Since 2017, 60 of the 70 FDA-approved treatments for blood cancer were developed with funding from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Many of these drugs are now being tested in clinical trials to fight other types of cancer (breast, brain, prostate, and many more) and even autoimmune conditions. On top of that, LLS works to keep the money as local as possible, and in 2020 they invested $600,000 into research and provided $2.3 million in co-pay assistance to 900 families in Northern Ohio. Also, since, April 1, 2020, $144,500 has been given to 578 Northern Ohio families in COVID-19 financial assistance. One of the ways LLS funds its mission is through this annual Man and Woman of the Year (MWOY) campaign. MWOY is a 10-week fundraising campaign that takes place each spring. Each year, dedicated individuals from the Akron/Cleveland community sign on to raise as many funds as they can. Whoever raises the most in 10 weeks is named the man & the woman of the year.
