Books in Bloom Literary Festival Returns to Columbia at Color Burst Park! Books in Bloom is returning to Columbia, MD for its sixth year! This year, the progressive book festival will be headlined by famed investigative journalist, known for his reporting on the Watergate scandal for the Washington Post in 1972, Carl Bernstein. Bernstein will discuss his latest memoir Chasing History: A Kid in the Newsroom, recalling his beginnings as a young journalist in Washington, DC, with stories of the Kennedy era and the civil rights movement. Seating will be provided at all stages including the Main Stage at Color Burst Park on a first-come, first-served basis. Is there reserved seating for author readings? All author readings are general admission and seats are first-come, first-served. What is 6100 Merriweather? 6100 Merriweather Drive is the Tenable building in the Merriweather District. The 6100 Stage is stationed at the entrance. Will there be food? Select food offerings will be available for purchase from kiosks by Cured. Merriweather District’s restaurants including Busboys and Poets, Dok Khao Thai Eatery, The Charmery, and Clove and Cardamom will also be available. Books In Bloom is a rain or shine festival. The main stage on Color Burst Park is tented. The Juniper stage is inside the Juniper apartment building, and the 6100 stage is canopied under the Tenable Building.
