They bring the big feels all the way from Chicago, Illinois while perennial Ithaca faves, the femme folk-punks Motherwort and "spiro-core" indie heartthrob's Pole Vaulter provide the opening thrills. A perfect blend of jams for all that hand-holding and falling in love you have to do on a Thursday night! Izzy True (Chicago, IL) Izzy True is a rock band based in Chicago, IL. Their most recent album Our Beautiful Baby World (released on Don Giovanni Records in July 2021) exhibits eleven dynamic songs that meld collaboration, expressing the deepness of acceptance. In Our Beautiful Baby World, Izzy True creates ups and downs of instrumental chaos and intimate lyrics, leading into big guitars, crashing drums, and gnarly bari-saxophone (“Big Natural”). This mixture of hard-soft sounds imitates shifts in interpersonal lives and ticking time. Izzy True’s world features angels, open pastures, and ghosts of old friends and lovers (“Haunted Lumina”) looping around Reidy’s twanging yet patient vocals. There’s a desire to find okayness in this harsh world, translated in thrashing around, filled with wonder by the taste of a fresh guayaba (“New Fruit”). Pole Vaulter (Ithaca, NY) Forged in the darkest depths of the pandemic, Pole Vaulter are four friend shaped people bonded by queerness and a love for the 90s alternative they all grew up on. Playing self-described “spiro-core” the four write riff-y pop songs about family, queer identity and self-discovery. MOTHERWORT (Ithaca, NY) Four Voices, One Heart...Motherwort is a farm-grrrl folk-punk band from the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY. They began making music in a beautiful old barn at Interbrook Farm in Interlaken in 2018, and their musical remedy sessions for life, love and loss spawned more cathartic songs than they could sing in one afternoon. Drawing from many influences ranging from Bad Religion to Bikini Kill to the Pixies to Celtic traditions, Motherwort plays music from the heart as a connection to yours. Izzy True
