Folx love our in-person open houses - so we are opening up our space to our customers again for Indie Bookstore Day!! In celebration of Indie Book Store Day, we are opening up our space to our customers. If you are in the Bay Area Saturday, April 30th - come by and say hi! You can get to know us, discuss your favorite books, check out new titles, ask questions, and take a seat and read for a while. We will even have customer appreciation gift bags (while supplies last) In addition to celebrating Indie Bookstore Day, we will also be shooting an updated introduction to Sistah Scifi video. Come ready to share what you love about Afrofuturism and Indigenous Futurism, Sistah Scifi, and books in a sentence or two for the camera. Below are more details on the event schedule Event schedule 12:00: Arrive (Late arrives more than welcomed!) 12:30: Listen to and discuss The Memory Librarian by Janelle Monae and Alaya Dawn Johnson., the first story in THE MEMORY LIBRARIAN: AND OTHER STORIES OF DIRTY COMPUTER) read by Janelle Monae 2:00PM: Gift Bag give away. Priority given to registered attendees. Must be present. 2:15PM to 6:00PM: Games! BlerBrity and Black Card Revoked. Feel free to bring others Please note masks fully covering your mouth and nose are REQUIRED for the entire time you are at the Sistah Scifi Book Boutique and Fulfilment Office.
