Description

Start new conversations with other Rivertown women while learning how to build your own arrangements that begin with supermarket flowers. Whether you are new to Westchester and the Rivertowns or a long time resident - Broad River provides a welcoming and relaxed space to build connections, laugh and learn together. We will be meeting at the Shames JCC* - outdoors in the courtyard if the weather cooperates, indoors if it does not. This program is free for all Broad River Boost members. Visit thebroadriver.org to learn more about our membership program, our two membership levels and meet the Broad River partners who are offering generous discounts to Broad Boost members. *All in-person participants must show proof of vaccination when they check-in at the Shames JCC. Featured Presentation: DIY Flower Arranging - From Humble to PrettyImpromptu dinner party or need flowers in a pinch? You do not need to have a green thumb to create beautiful flower arrangements with supermarket flowers and perhaps some cuttings from your yard. During this hands-on program, Andrea Perrone of Adonia Floral will teach us how. We will discuss how to condition and prepare flowers, create a pleasing arrangement and floral maintenance tips to make your blooms last. This program is a "bring your own" event including: a container for your arrangements, flowers and foliage from the supermarket and/or your garden, tape and shears. More details will be provided prior to the event. Best sources for blooms include – Stop & Shop, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Stew Leonard’s. We provide women with a forum to "Connect, Reflect and Grow".  We welcome women of all ages, from all backgrounds and professions, and with diverse experiences. What draws us together is the opportunity to build relationships, to share with each other and develop as individuals and as a community.  We gather in a relaxed space, without pretension or appearances.  We each are looking to reflect upon and build our whole-selves, not just our work, family or personal selves exclusively.  Like the Hudson River, we connect the communities we live in together.  Collectively, we can be transformative & powerful.  But, we also make the time to go with the flow, be carefree and have fun. Broad River of the Rivertown's geographic heart is in the Westchester County communities located along the Hudson River. Please share this invitation with other women you think might be interested. We want to expand our impact! Questions? Contact Laurie Hirsch Schulz at 914-255-0358, [email protected]
