Let your voice and experience be heard! Join LCOI members, founders, leaders, Board, and committees for our Strategic Planning Session. It has been 10 years since Lake County Opioid Initiative was established by Chelsea Laliberte Barnes, Judge Mike Nerheim, Bruce Johnson & George Filenko. We have so much to be proud of! Since launching, we have saved lives, de-stigmatized substance use and addiction, and creating linkages to care and expanded care across Lake County and beyond. We have over 200 organizations and 300 individuals on our membership roster dedicated to achieving our goals. Some of the results of our efforts include: Saving 421 lives from a fatal drug overdose through law enforcement NARCAN administrationRouting 863 people to care through our police-assisted diversion program, A Way OutCollecting 86,089 pounds of unused/expired prescription drugs, collecting $5,165,340 in the potentially illegal use of opioids from Lake County residentsThousands of texts from residents through the 24/7 anonymous text crisis line, Text-A-TipNumerous national and state awards as well as being recognized as a countywide model for change by the Obama White HouseThe opioid epidemic is worse than ever before with fentanyl taking countless lives and creating new challenges. Now it is time to determine our goals and plan for ending fatal overdose in Lake County. Please join us to lend your voice and experience to develop our Strategic Plan. Regardless of past involvement, if you have an interest in or are personally or professionally impacted by substance use, please join us. We need you.
