NOMAD, NY — A straphanger was struck by a train at the 28th Street R and W lines station in NoMad, sparking Friday morning delays for commuters, according to the MTA. The N, Q, R, and W lines were delayed after a person was struck by a train at the NoMad station at 28th Street and Broadway, the MTA said in an alert just before 9 a.m. Extensive delays continued as emergency responders assisted the person and the NYPD investigated, according to NYC Transit Subway. Per the MTA: Southbound N trains were running express from 57th Street-Seventh Ave. to Times Square. Southbound R trains were running along the F from 36th Street in Queens to Bryant Park and along the B to Dekalb Avenue. Some northbound R trains stop at Whitehall Street in Lower Manhattan. Southbound W trains were running express from 57th Street-Seventh Avenue to Canal Street. Video from the Citizen App showed emergency responders on the subway tracks at the station, as well as above ground at the bustling intersection near Broadway and West 28th Street. An NYPD spokesperson did not immediately have information.
