Press release from CUNY School of Professional Studies: October 7 2020 Dear Members of the CUNY SPS Community: As we settle into the 2020 Fall Semester, I want to remind everyone that the general election is on November 3, and urge you all to register to vote and to make a plan for how and when you will vote in the days ahead. This election year, as we grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, systemic racism and injustice, and an uncertain economy—just to name a few of the extraordinary challenges we are facing today—it is more crucial than ever that we make our voices heard. While the news we hear daily, and sometimes hourly, may seem overwhelming, we must not give in to fear or hopelessness, or assume that the problems or divisions in our country are too deep to heal. We can, individually and collectively, build a more just society. And one way we can do this is by casting our ballot this November. Each of our votes reaffirm and strengthen the most basic tenet of our democracy: to participate in the decisions made on a local, state, and federal level that impact our lives, our families, our communities, and, ultimately, our future. To help guide you through the often-confusing voting process, we've compiled a list of important deadlines and voting information below. Please bookmark these pages and visit them over the next few weeks. Remember, your vote counts! Sincerely, John Mogulescu, Dean CUNY School of Professional Studies KEY VOTING & ELECTION DATES OCTOBER 9, 2020 Voter Registration Deadline for General Election OCTOBER 24 – NOVEMBER 1, 2020 Early Voting for General Election OCTOBER 27, 2020 Absentee Ballot Application Deadline for General Election NOVEMBER 3, 2020 General Election Day VOTING INFORMATION Register to Vote If you are a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old before the November 3rd election, you are eligible to vote.
