Pianist Ethan McGrath performs works by Liszt and Schumann, premieres new composition for cello and piano
In the inaugural performance in the new chapel/recital room at Jim Bailiff's Lookout Valley home, which houses a Steinway concert grand once owned by the legendary Artur Rubinstein, Ethan McGrath will present an intimate program of piano music, including Franz Liszt's serene Consolations and Robert Schumann's profoundly poetic Kreisleriana. The close the program, Ethan will be joined by cellist Ben Van Winkle in the premiere performance of his Two Songs Without Words—a rather sentimental homage to the unlikely trio of Mendelssohn, Joplin, and Rachmaninoff. Reception to follow.
As there is limited seating, tickets must be booked in advance. Tickets are available on a donation basis; you may donate whatever amount you like (there is no minimum). Those who donate $50 or more will have the option of having their name listed under "benefactors" in the printed program.
