Press release from the University of Delaware:
April 19, 2022
Latest issue of UD Magazine explores a world in transition, now online and in select mailboxes The spring 2022 edition of UD Magazine, which spotlights Blue Hen expertise in a number of topical areas, is now online and in select mailboxes.
The publication profiles Army captain and University of Delaware alumnus Micah Peterson, whose haunting perspective as one of the last soldiers in Afghanistan offers a hopeful view of service across the globe, as well as a look into Philadelphia's Museum of the American Revolution, which has deep and expansive connections to the University.
The spring issue also spotlights the 30-year anniversary of the UD Botanic Gardens, offering a reader-friendly tutorial on gardening basics, from the cheeky horticulture horoscopes (organized Scorpios might enjoy the tidy symmetry of the spiral aloe, for instance) to the more practical "know before you grow" guide.
"Service is a prominent theme throughout this issue," said Managing Editor Artika Casini, whose favorite story is a Q&A with longtime UD custodial worker Crystal Hayes. "As we live through a world in transition, Blue Hens like Crystal and Micah remind us that people matter most. I hope that's a lesson all readers take away."
Global supply chain disruptions and paper shortages have caused the publication to significantly reduce circulation for the current issue. If you did not receive the copy but would like to be added to the UD Magazine mailing list, please select, "I don't currently receive the UD Magazine. Please send it to me" here. You can also submit a class note or opt out of the print magazine at the same site.
