TRUMBULL, CT — An 84-year-old Monroe man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Stonehouse Road in Trumbull, according to police. No other injuries were reported. Gino Magliocco was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, which crashed at about 10:30 a.m. The crash occurred near Thomas Street, which led to police closing a portion of Stonehouse Road for several hours while officers investigated. The road has since been reopened. Police were alerted to the crash by a host of 911 calls, and Trumbull officers who arrived on the scene immediately began rendering medical aid to Magliocco. Trumbull EMS arrived and assisted with treating Magliocco before transporting him to Saint Vincent's Hospital where he later died from his injuries. "[Magliocco's] vehicle had traveled Easterly on Stonehouse Road before it struck a tree, causing it to roll, and eventually cross the roadway before it came to rest," Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir wrote in a statement. "The accident scene spanned a large section of Stonehouse Road between West Rock Road and Thomas Street." The Trumbull and Fairfield Police Department's Traffic Divisions are currently investigating the crash. The cause of the accident and cause of death have not been determined at this time. Trumbull Police are urging anyone who may have information about the crash to contact the department directly at 203-261-3665.
