Description

FRAMINGHAM, MA — State police used a spike strip to stop a driver who fled a traffic stop along the Mass Pike Thursday morning. State police said a trooper tried to pull over the westbound driver for an expired registration in Boston, but the driver did not stop. The pursuit ended in Framingham, and the highway was shut down for a brief period. State police are seeking to charge the driver with operating an unregistered vehicle, failure to use turn signals, failure to stop and failure to identify himself to police. He was set to appear in court in Boston on Thursday. This is the second pursuit by state police in as many days. On Wednesday, a driver fled an attempted traffic stop at the Charlton rest area on the westbound side of the Mass Pike. The driver, an Illinois man, was arrested at the opposite end of the state near the New York border.
