NEWTOWN, CT — Five runners from Newtown and Sandy Hook competed in the 2022 Boston Marathon on Monday. Nearly 25,000 runners finished the famous event, including more than 350 from Connecticut.
Of Connecticut runners, Everett Hackett, 32, of Hartford was the state's top runner at 50th place with an official time of 2:24:56. Laura Pierce, 40, of Woodbridge placed 127th among women and 2,251st overall with a time of 2:55:41.
The Sandy Hook runners were:
Brenda Mcrae, 38, who finished the race with an official time of 3:20:21Joey Conrod, 22, who finished the race with an official time of 3:25:16Robert Katrinak, 58, who finished the race with an official time of 3:59:50Cynthia Degirolamo, 55, who finished the race with an official time of 4:17:49The Newtown runner was Jeffrey Capeci, 56, who finished the race with an official time of 3:43:44.
