BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Police Department is welcoming a new officer. Rocky Ongaro took the oath on Wednesday. The Brookfield native is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served as an infantry machine gunner for 4 years. Ongaro is currently attending Western Connecticut State University and will graduate next year with a bachelor's degree in business. On Monday, the BPD's newest recruit begins a 28-week-long academy session in New Britain, according to police officials on social media.
