NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — A Northampton Township woman has been charged in the one-vehicle car crash that left one man dead in February.
Theresa Dowling, 47, was charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another, reckless driving, exceeding maximum speed limits, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
The crash took place at the intersection of Lower Holland Road and Grace Drive on Feb. 21 at around 9:30 a.m. A 56-year-old man, who was the passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Northampton Township Police Department investigated the crash with the help of the Northampton Township Police Traffic Safety Unit, which was assisted by Chief Steven Mawhinney and Officer Jeffrey Moffett from the Bucks County Crash Reconstruction Team.
Members of the Northampton Township Fire Department, the Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, the Northampton Township Police Criminal Investigations Division, and the Northampton Township Police Patrol Division – C Platoon assisted police in the investigation.
The investigation found that Dowling was driving recklessly and caused the fatal crash. She was officially charged on Wednesday.
