MONTGOMERY, IL — To welcome warmer temperatures, The Conservation Foundation is gearing up to host its Spring at the Farm event at its Dickson-Murst Farm May 1.
The free event, sponsored by Byline Bank of Oswego, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The historic homestead is located on 4.5 acres at 2550 Dickson Road, about a mile south of Route 30 and a mile east of Route 47.
Activities for all ages will be happening during Spring at the Farm. Guests can go on hay and barrel train rides, pet farm animals, enjoy food from the Country Kitchen and ice cream from an ice cream truck. Antique trucks and tractors will be on display, staff will be doing farm demonstrations, and young kids can play in the corn box and play area.
Students from the Newark Chapter of Future Farmers of America will bring their farm animals to the event and will also be selling hanging baskets and colorful annuals, which could make a good Mother's Day gift, organizers said in a news release.
Kendall County 4-H clubs will provide activities for kids all ages.
