Northfield City Administrator Gets Raise After Performance Review

NORTHFIELD, MN — After his annual performance review, the city of Northfield announced that city administrator Ben Martig would receive a 5.85 percent raise, bringing his 2022 salary to $172,473.60. City Council held the performance review at a special meeting Tuesday and "couldn't be much happier" with Martig's performance, the city said. Martig was first hired as the city administrator in 2016, according to the city. "Northfield's elected officials are extremely satisfied with their city administrator's leadership in the last year," Northfield's Mayor Rhonda Pownell said. "Ben earned high praise for his work to keep Northfield safe and stable during the on-going pandemic and for implementing solid results for the Council's myriad priority projects and plans – including the strategic plan. The City Council has expressed, through this review process, a desire for him to continue with this good work as their city administrator for the upcoming year." More information is available here.
