Separate Crashes Closes Eastbound U.S. Route 26 In Hillsboro For Hours

HILLSBORO, OR —Two separate crashes on eastbound U.S. Route 26 in Hillsboro Thursday morning created delays and left one person critically injured, Hillsboro police said. The crashes happened just after 9 a.m. Firefighters used special tools to remove one person from a car, officials said. The person, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said. The crash happened on eastbound Route 26 near the exit to Cornelius Pass Road. A second crash resulted in no serious injuries, officials said. Police offered no further information on the people involved in that crash; Patch reached out to police for comment. Hillsboro police said that eastbound Route 26 was closed between Broookwood Road and Cornelus Pass Road for several hours.
