HILLSBORO, OR —Two separate crashes on eastbound U.S. Route 26 in Hillsboro Thursday morning created delays and left one person critically injured, Hillsboro police said. The crashes happened just after 9 a.m.
Firefighters used special tools to remove one person from a car, officials said. The person, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said. The crash happened on eastbound Route 26 near the exit to Cornelius Pass Road.
A second crash resulted in no serious injuries, officials said. Police offered no further information on the people involved in that crash; Patch reached out to police for comment.
Hillsboro police said that eastbound Route 26 was closed between Broookwood Road and Cornelus Pass Road for several hours.
