Here are the top five stories in Raleigh today: Raleigh police responded to a double shooting on Wednesday night on Quarry Street, just north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. One man was found outside the house, and the other man was a few blocks away. Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The gunman is not in custody, and police have not released additional details about a motive or suspect. (abc11, WRAL, CBS17)North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein says that progress is being made in efforts to clear the state's backlog of 16,000 untested rape kits. Stein said on Thursday, that more than three-fourths of kits that can be tested have either been tested or are in the process of being tested. Through testing the backlog, so far 63 arrests have been made in connection with 91 assaults. (CBS17)Wake County home prices have been rising for some time now, but some areas of the county are experiencing even larger than expected price jumps. The average single-family home has sold for $154,000 more in recent months compared to 5 years ago. Elisa Moore, of Five County Specialist Real Estate, points out that some of the largest increases are in some of the rural areas outside of Raleigh's city center. Three of the top ZIP codes reporting high growth are also some of the poorest areas of the county. (abc11)Raleigh police officers responded to an incident on Wednesday night around 9:35 pm at a sweepstakes parlor. Police say that a man attempted to steal a key that would give access to an undisclosed amount of money, and two men attempted to flee but crashed in the parking lot. One employee fired a shot at the SUV and was arrested and charged for shooting into a moving vehicle. Police are still looking for the two men who fled the scene. (WRAL)The North Carolina Supreme Court agreed on Wednesday to give Special Superior Court Judge Michael Robinson a seven day extension. Robinson requested the extension on Tuesday while citing differences between the legal parties over details and numerous documents to review. The Supreme Court tasked Robinson with reviewing Judge David Lee's order and originally gave him until Wednesday to report findings.
