Alten Construction welcomes three new hires to its growing team

RICHMOND, Calif. — Alten Construction, a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently welcomed John Dunsing, Kevin Mancuso and Matt Ott to the family-owned business. “Over the past year, Alten Construction has demonstrated tremendous growth despite the challenges the construction industry has experienced,” said Bob Alten, president and chief executive officer of Alten Construction. “We are excited to welcome such seasoned individuals to our team.” Dunsing joins Alten Construction with more than 25 years of experience in project management, pre-construction estimating, site survey and business development. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of the commercial demolition division for SCI Demolition & John Dunsing Commercial Construction. In his new role as senior project manager for Alten Construction, Dunsing will manage project costs, construction schedules and subcontractors, among other tasks. Dunsing earned his bachelor’s of science degree in business administration/marketing and construction management from California State University-Chico. Mancuso brings a wealth of experience in commercial, industrial, residential and schools to the construction firm. Most recently, Mancuso acted as superintendent for EF Brett & Company. During his time there, he worked on a number of area projects, including the modernization of College of Marin Fusselman Hall and Geyserville New Tech Academy. In his new role as superintendent with Alten Construction, he will coordinate and manage subcontractors and ensure productivity and efficiency in all scopes of the project, among other duties. Mancuso attended the University of New Hampshire and became a journey-level carpenter in 1995. With over 35 years of experience in supervision, management and estimation in residential and commercial construction, Ott joins Alten Construction as a superintendent. Most recently, he served as a field superintendent with Mai Construction. During his time there, he managed subcontractors, completed scheduling and compiled daily reports, among other tasks. In his new role as superintendent with Alten Construction, he will coordinate and manage subcontractors and ensure productivity and efficiency in all scopes of the project, among other duties. Ott obtained his associate of science degree in organizational management from Gateway Community College, is a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and has his journeyman carpenter certification. Alten Construction currently employs more than 90 employees – many who have been with the company for more than 15 years. The Altens count the longevity of employees as one of the company’s biggest accomplishments. Since its founding, Alten Construction has completed approximately 208 projects, with many being public education buildings, from elementary schools to colleges.
