DETROIT — A 3-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head Thursday morning after police said the toddler found a gun in his Detroit home. The boy was taken to Children's Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition as of Thursday morning, police said. Police believe the gunshot only grazed the toddler's head, but were unsure how severe the wound was, police said. While the parents were in the living room, police said the toddler grabbed the gun from a bed in the bedroom that police believe he shares with his older brother. The home is on Alameda Street just south of 8 Mile and West of John R. roads in Detroit. The child's mother, father and 16-year-old brother were all in the home when the toddler accidentally shot himself in the head at 2:50 a.m. Thursday morning, police said. Police believe the older brother took the gun and ran away from the house. Police have not arrested anyone in connection to the shooting, but were looking for the toddler's older brother. This is a developing story. Stay with Patch for updates
