Description

Press release from the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce: April 19, 2022 Based on the children's book by E.B. White, Charlotte's Web tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a pig and spider. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will provide you with an evening of enchantment. With memorable characters, and a heart-warming message, Charlotte's Web is the perfect outing for families with children of all ages! Dylan Blackwood, Co-Director of Charlotte's Web, shared "Charlotte's Web is a story that we all know and love! Growing up, this was one of my favorite stories because we can all see ourselves in both Wilbur and Charlotte. There's something to be learned from the unlikely friendship between the two. They are both selfless, and risk everything to help each other. This kind of compassion is something that the world could always use a little more of." Cody Walls, Co-Director of Charlotte's Web, shared "I am so excited for our students who are performing in Charlotte's Web. This is the first non-musical production that CSA has presented in many years, and it's the very first production of our new Centerstage Theatre Company. The focus of this group is to engage young people in educational stories with strong themes. What better show to start this new company off with than Charlotte's Web? This is a story about friendship, sacrifice, and perseverance. The original book was written in 1952, 70 years ago. The book is still considered one of the most beloved children's stories, which says a lot. Our students are putting in many long hours to prepare for this. I can't wait to get this story up on the stage and open to the public. What a beautiful story!" Community School of the Arts presents Charlotte's Web adapted by Joseph Robinette on Friday, April 22 at 7pm and Saturday, April 23 at 2pm & 7pm at the St. Boniface Auditorium, 201 N 19th St, Fort Smith AR. Tickets can be purchased online at www.csafortsmith.org/charlotte... or by call 479.434.2020. For more information on the performance please visit www.csafortsmith.org. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children, or $10 if you purchase 10 or more tickets. Quote from Dr. Russell, Executive Director: I am so excited for CSA to begin offering non-musical productions for those students who are interested in acting only. There are so many wonderful classics for our students to explore and our community to enjoy. This show is going to be a treat to see! Charlotte's Web is based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette. Produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.
