SOUTHAMPTON, NY – A Southampton Town Bay Constable was honored recently for his life-saving actions last summer. According to Southampton Town Police, on Wednesday, Southampton Town Bay Constable Christopher Fraser received recognition from New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo for his heroism on August 29, 2021, when he saved a man, 55, who was struck by a boat propeller in Noyack Creek. The man had severe lacerations to both legs and Fraser applied tourniquets to prevent further blood loss, police said. The man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. Fraser was recognized for his actions at Palumbo's office, receiving the New York State Senate Award, police said.
