DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Bond was denied Monday to a fifth suspect arrested in connection with the death of a Douglas County High School student at a New Year's Eve Party.
Madison Boden, 21, whose bond was denied, currently is in the Douglas County Jail.
In February, she was arrested and charged with participation in criminal street-gang activity stemming from the shooting death of Landon Smith, 15.
According to the arrest warrant as reported by multiple news outlets, Boden provided the gun that contributed to Smith's death. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported that Boden's bond had been denied.
The shooting happened on Dec. 31, when a house on Deering Court was rented for one night for a party on New Year's Eve. As word spread via social media, 70-100 people eventually showed up to the party. Many of them were teenagers, authorities said.
At some point, a group of four people from Cobb County showed up in a car driven by Zorree Peeples, 18, with Jhabre Wilson, 17; Karea Cowvins, 17; and Davion White, 20, as passengers, according to police.
After staying at the party for a time, the four people started to leave. At least two of the people in the car were armed and started shooting toward the direction of the party as they were driving away, police said. One of the bullets hit Smith.
Four other suspects were later arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death: Zorree Peeples, 18; Karea Cowvins, 17; Davion White, 20; and Jhabre Michael Wilson, 18.
