TPD Arrests Two Accused Of Arson, Burglarly At LA Lt. Governor's Home

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Two people were arrested in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday in connection to a burglary and fire at Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser's home last week, the Tuscaloosa Police Department confirmed to Patch on Wednesday. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts TPD says evening shift officers received information that a maroon Jeep Cherokee was in the area of Beauty Mark on Skyland Boulevard. Officers responded to the shopping center at 2:52 p.m., where they located and arrested the two suspects. TPD then said Robert Kelly and Angela Goodfellow, both 43, stole thousands of dollars worth of sports memorabilia, rare coins and other collectibles before setting the house on fire. Both are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail awaiting extradition to Louisiana to face charges of burglary and simple arson. According to 4WWL.com, the Louisiana governor said last week someone broke in to his Plaquemines Parish home, stealing what they could, before setting a fire in the kitchen. A pest control worker was the first to notice the flames after seeing the back door of the home kicked in.
