Hi
I am a quote unquote New Music concert composer (or at least working at it), looking for orchestral musicians as collaborators / collective, for long term art music composer-performer music exploration. Electric cello/violin and experimenting with distorted timbre is applicable. My compositions aim to be heavy & rhythmic, with strong pulse, chromaticism, aggressive tempos, darker tones. The best example is Tina Guo's style and tone, as she creates a mix of acoustic cello tracks and electric cello tracks. Check my cheesy site at www.superblonde.org for past sample projects. Please have a recording setup, so collaboration can be remote, no need to travel/commute for most collab work. Send pics of home studio recording setup so I can tell whats up. Not looking for hobbyists. Music majors at UCLA, CSUN, and around, if you're looking for a composer with more interesting scores than the traditional "classical", maybe this is for you. If you wonder, "why can't orchestral concert performances have mosh pits?" then maybe this is for you. Angry conservatory kids, dropouts, definitely yes.
Right now I have a string quartet piece which needs a reading (April - May) for live performance in May. See the image posted on this ad. I will pay for reading/feedback time.
