Rolling stock Mechanic sought for Alaska salmon cannery in Naknek, AK. Experienced line mechanics work from mid-May to the end of July, typically 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. OT paid after 8 reg hrs. in a day and after 40 reg hours in a week. Additional OT may be required during peak season. Housing, meals and transportation provided. Wage DOE. Must have skills / competencies in the following areas of responsibility: • Experienced mechanic with minimum four years on both gas and diesel vehicles. • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment for up to 12 hours a day 7 days a week. • Experience in forklift mechanics in all aspects including electrical preferred. • Experience and understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic motors. • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently. • Hold a valid US Driver’s License. • Able to take quick action, exercise independent decision making and resolution of mechanical issues. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Must provide own tools. • Willing and able to live and work in drug-free environment. • Willing and able to work seven days a week during duration of season.
