MARLBOROUGH, MA — The number of active coronavirus cases in Marlborough rose over the weekend, reaching the highest reported total in four weeks, according to the health department. As of Monday, Marlborough had 33 active cases, an increase of just one case compared to the city's previous report on Aug. 7. The city did not report any new deaths over the weekend, and the toll stood at 66 as of Aug. 10. Marlborough was one of the first communities in the state to get free testing under the Stop the Spread program. Since that program began in July, Massachusetts has seen an overall uptick in new cases. On Tuesday, new restrictions went into effect due to the rising cases. Marlborough has been reporting coronavirus data three times per week since July.
