FURNITURE REPAIR TECH TRAINING COURSES 2 hour session includes the following. 1. Guide to sourcing and usage of appropriate materials and supplies. In this module we'll be showing you where and how to find the best contractor grade materials. This is important as you will likely be contracted to repair very expensive and rare furniture pieces. In addition, we will be recommending an appropriate selection of supplies. This is due to the unique and delicate nature of antiques and "one of a kind" pieces, such as family heirlooms handed down through generations. 2. Guide to preparation and set up. The best way to achieve professional results is to know how to properly prepare and set up the proper environment for these particular tasks. The products used in this field have fluctuating properties, and understanding what they are, will avoid errors that can cause further damages and ending up with an unhappy customer. This will help prevent causing damage to surrounding areas as well. 3. Demonstration of basic repairs on wood, leather, fabric, stone, etc. Our in-house technician will demonstrate basic repair work on hard, soft and flexible surfaces. Here we get down to business, and demonstrate how to properly execute a repair on-site. 4. Hands-on student participation. Finally, our in-house technician will walk you step by step through some of the repairs.
