Help restock a food pantry that sustains New Yorkers in need! The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) supports the Lower East Side and wider NYC community with human services and community development programs. While the majority of services are oriented to older adults, UJCES also has programs for families and children. UJCES volunteers are essential to our mission as we serve New Yorkers. DETAILS: We are looking for a group of up to 10 volunteers to help unload and organize large truck deliveries of grocery items, to restock a food pantry. Instructions are provided on site. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials. This opportunity involves unloading items from a truck outdoors and bringing them into an indoor facility, rain or shine. You must be 14+ years old to volunteer, and groups of volunteers 14-17 years old must be accompanied by parent(s) or guardian(s). You can join compassionate people in supplying nutritious food to the New York City community. This is a great opportunity for corporate or student volunteer groups! DAYS & TIMES: This opportunity will take place between 9:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. HOW TO SIGN UP: Join the UJCES team!
