Description

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough students may never know the joy of a snow day again. A serious snowstorm will hit the region beginning Wednesday, with as much as 9 inches predicted for Marlborough. But the Marlborough students will have classes through it, part of a new policy the district approved this fall. On Monday, Marlborough Superintendent Michael Bergeron notified parents the district may use a "remote snow day" on Thursday. Instead of having the day off, all students will attend classes online. The district alerted parents on Tuesday night that all classes will proceed online on Thursday. But students may see some benefit. Snow cancellations typically tack on extra days at the end of the school year in June. Not so with remote snow days. "This will benefit the district by allowing us to keep our current calendar in place and our original end date of June 18," Bergeron's message to parents said.
