Gregoire (D-Marlborough) is pleased to share important information for the upcoming November 3rd general election. The September 1st primary had a record-breaking number of 1,706,992 ballots cast, mainly due to expanded voting options from legislation signed in July. Voters across the Commonwealth have already begun casting their ballot through both mail-in or expanded early voting options. As of Friday, October 23rd, more than 30 percent of all Massachusetts registered voters had cast their ballot. Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin reported that 965,786 ballots had been returned via mail, while 472,944 people had voted in person through early voting. Like in the primary election, voters have had the option to vote-by-mail, vote early, or vote on Election Day. For those who have requested to vote-by-mail, ballot requests can be tracked here. Ballots can either be mailed back to the municipal clerk or dropped off in a designated ballot drop box located at each community's city or town hall. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 3rd. Ballots mailed from within the country must arrive by Friday, November 6th, while ballots mailed from outside the country must arrive by Friday, November 13th. Today, Thursday, October 29th, and tomorrow, Friday, October 30th, are the last two days to vote early. Information for the remainder of early voting can be found on each community's municipal website: Marlborough, Northborough, and Westborough. Voters who choose to cast their ballot in person on Election Day will be required to practice social distancing, hand hygiene, and follow any additional safeguards in place at the polling location. It is important to note that there are two statewide ballot questions in addition to the federal, state, and county positions on the ballot. Question 1 is regarding motor vehicle mechanical data, while Question 2 would approve ranked-choice voting.
