TONIGHT at MACHINES WITH MAGNETS: Retribution Body's release show for Baphomet, the new album on Full Spectrum Records. Live performances by: RETRIBUTION BODY Matthew Azevedo is a Providence, RI-based composer, mastering engineer, and acoustician. Their work as Retribution Body uses custom subwoofers and modular synthesizers auralizing the architecture of performance spaces though dense fields of standing waves, crafting work that is simultaneously minimalist and overwhelming. HOUSE RED Redefining Understated. All vocals all the time. COMPACTOR An interconnected pile of mostly obsolete machinery, manipulated by an anonymous everyman figure known as The Worker for a shadowy corporation. The sounds of the machinery form often rhythmic soundtracks of Industrial Noise, coupled with imagery and messaging designed to subvert the status quo. ELIZABETH VIROSA Virosa is primarily known as half of the Providence duo SNOWBEASTS, but has begun to create and explore her own soundscapes made from her ethereal vocals and skeletal modular synths.
