The woman is not wanted by police, but the department is required to make a notification under state law. Carolyn Pierce, 38, until recently was living in the Barnstable area. She was convicted in 2010 on charges of rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14. According to reports, Pierce touched a 2-year-old girl she babysat in a sexual manner on multiple occasions. Pierce was sentenced to eight years in a state prison, plus 15 years of probation.
