Our retail locations include the legendary Reston Farm Garden Market and several Neighborhood Garden Markets throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington DC area. Responsibilities Include: • Assist customers with plant selection and proper care. • Provide recommendations for additional products to maintain healthy plant material. • Maintain plant nursery to ensure effective merchandising and a safe and welcoming shopping environment. • Maintain the health and overall appearance of plant material to minimize inventory loss and damage. Perform deadheading, pruning, regular watering, movement, and rotation of plants in optimum sun/shade locations. Communicate regularly with facility leadership regarding issues of plant health, including markdown • Accept delivery of plants to the Verify plants to shipment documents and inspect plants for damage. Unload plants by hand using proper lifting techniques and equipment. Request assistance from team members as necessary when unloading large shrubs and trees The ideal candidate must possess the following: • Positive, respectful, can-do attitude • Ability to work within a team or independently. • A desire and readiness to learn. • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Willingness to work outdoors regardless of the weather. • Ability to walk/ stand for extended periods. • Ability to lift and carry merchandise.
