Description

Starseed oodball, located in Tucson. Here to help raise the bandwidth. I have two lap steels each in a different tuning c6 and e13 I have an acoustic electric resonator guitar -commonly and mistakenly referred to as a "dobro" (dobro is a brand of resonator guitar like Gibson or supro or fender) I keep that one in g major tuning and can quickly switch it to a g6 by raising the fourth string a whole step, (if a piece has a lot of minor chords.) Otherwise I just slant. I have guitars, amp and on vox I'm primarily backups can do the occasional lead. I'm baritone. If you're a rock band and you're looking to add lap steel and or resonator - understand it will change the way your band sounds...... some guys freak out and say it sounds too country, some people dig on it, some not. I consider it more Americana sounding but either way the steel doesn't always work on everything so that's why I double on guitar and I am a very capable guitar player -lead, rhythm, accompaniment,. (accompaniment is not noodling incessantly in the background, it's using diads and triads, melodic counter composition etc to help shade and color the soundscape) Can read charts, familiar with Nashville number system Seeking GOOD NATURED people to play with, no addicts rock stars or attitudes or dictators. I have an open mind but I don't care to discuss politics or conspiracies. I do like people, all kinds of people so please be glbtq/ ood duck friendly. I practice Nichiren Buddhism and can see the value every person has and the inherent Buddha nature in everyone, therefore I try to show everybody respect and not judgment. If you're killing it, I give a lot of compliments, I'm not arrogant, as my broader perspective gained from Buddhist practice has afforded me appreciation to see the value of other humans beings (starseeds) so I show appreciation for the value they bring to the table. Which is why my 40 years of experience makes me a great bandmate ! Plus if you're stinking up the room or if I'm stinking up the room I expect somebody to let one of us know....lol. I have no agenda except to push myself and my bandmates to be the very best they can be. *Disclaimer- I can only rehearse in non-smoking facilities, also can't do any heavy lifting. I have chronic progressive heart disease so I have to play it smart, if I want to squeeze a few more years out of the ride. Not to over explain myself or come off as an ass, but I just consider time a very precious resource and I don't want to waste yours or mine, so I am just trying to be as clear as possible. Appalachian hillbilly music, Ragtime, Old Timey, Delta blues, 60s- early country, Hank & Willie and the Avett Brothers, Billy Strings are some of my favorite things.
