Through Caterpillar’s recent facility consolidation efforts, Caterpillar Pontiac is in need of hiring more employees due to the additional work being brought into the facility. Caterpillar Pontiac will be hosting Talent Tuesday open interview hiring events every first Tuesday of the month beginning Feb 1, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 1300 4H Park Road, Pontiac, IL! As a CNC/Lathe Specialist at Caterpillar, Inc., you will set up, operate and adjust automatic lathes to perform complex combinations of operations to tight tolerances on a variety of parts. Set up, operate and adjust one or more numerically controlled drilling and boring machines where the feeds, speeds and cycle are fully controlled by encoded instructions. Machining programs, tool layouts and encoded instructions are usually provided. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Set up, operate and adjust automatic lathes to perform complex combinations of operations to tight tolerances on a variety of parts Set up, operate and adjust one or more numerically controlled drilling and boring machines where the feeds, speeds and cycle are fully controlled by encoded instructions. Machining programs, tool layouts and encoded instructions are usually provided Applying safe working methods Required Qualifications: 1 year of CNC machining experience or machining certification from an accredited school or program Intermediate proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints Desired Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a team environment Strong commitment to safety Must be able to work any shift/schedule as shifts/working hours will change with business needs Additional Information This is full-time position offering benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K, etc. Shift: 2nd and 3rd shifts have open positions available Hours: 2nd: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, Monday-Friday 3rd: 11:00PM-7:00AM, Sunday- Thursday Relocation assistance is not offered for this position Caterpillar is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status; however, as a global company, Caterpillar offers many job opportunities outside of the U.S. which can be found through our employment website at www.caterpillar.com/careers.com EEO/AA Employer.
