No New Bands these days?

There are ads on here that go back to the first of march. Ads for singers, drummers looking for bands, horn players, etc. Same ads for weeks, are there no new bands forming in the area or just nowhere for them to play or what? I have had an ad off and on for months and it's hard to believe no one needs a veteran drummer. Just about to give up looking. What's the dealio?
