RIDGEFIELD, CT — First Selectman Rudy Marconi is urging residents to "remain vigilant" regarding coronavirus safety protocols. "States that are more relaxed with regard to the wearing of face masks and practicing social distancing are experiencing much higher case rates because of these relaxed practices," Marconi said in a news release. Marconi says his "plea" is for residents to continue following best practices for wearing face coverings over their mouth and nose in public, practice social distancing and wash their hands regularly with soap and water or hand sanitizer. The first selectman is encouraging residents to consult the Connecticut Travel Advisory when planning a trip, and adhere to quarantine requirements. The state Department of Public Health issued a "COVID-19 alert" for neighboring Danbury on Friday after a significant increase in cases there in the last two weeks.
