I'm a Poet/Lyricist/Vocalist seeking a Guitarist, Bassist, and Drummer for a doom/prog metal/spoken-word band. I seek to combine metal song structures with dramatic, spoken-word poetry; along with some traditional hard-rock/metal vocals. Drop C# tuning and Drop D tuning work best for me. I have a loud and powerful bass-baritone voice, though I am not a classically trained singer. My musical and literary inspirations and influences are varied and eclectic, and include: Black Sabbath, Metallica, The Doors, Old Aerosmith (Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Draw the Line) King Crimson, Capitan Beefheart, Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, Audioslave (the first album), Alice in Chains (the Layne Staley era), Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Chopin (Classical Composer), Schubert (Classical Composer), Beethoven (Classical Composer), Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison, Billy Idol, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana, Everlast (Songs like "What It's Like" and "Put Your Lights On"), Dylan Thomas (Poet), Will Alexander (Poet), William Blake (Poet), and the list goes on. I do not like Motley Crue or any glam metal. I despise Van Halen. "Clean" Aerosmith is sanitized, corporate, plastic, and phony garbage. I used a free Karaoke app, due to financial constraints. Therefore, the production-values are poor. But, that demo still gives a reasonable approximation of my vocals. Also, though I'd like the foundation of this project to be founded on a bass, guitar, and drum format, other instruments, including keyboards, the lyre, the hurdy-gurdy, will be considered, especially regarding my spoken word, poetical ideas.
