MARBLEHEAD, MA — Shubie's Marketplace in Marblehead will suspend food service after one of its kitchen workers tested positive Friday for the new coronavirus. In a Facebook message, the store said it hopes to resume food service sales during the week of May 4, after a two-week period since the exposure passes. The store will continue to sell wine, beer, liquor, and groceries and offer curbside pickup and delivery. The worker, who was not identified, worked one day during the week of April 13 and did not show any symptoms until several days after the last shift. "As a part of our pandemic preparedness efforts that were set into motion in March, the kitchen has only been accessible to our kitchen team members. No other team members are permitted to enter the kitchen," Shubie's said. "All team members vigilantly adhere to wearing masks, gloves, and professionally sanitized chef coats and aprons. We also have implemented a strict daily cleaning regiment."
