RIDGEFIELD, CT — Eversource has 24 customers still without power in town as of Thursday evening, and is "working continually to resolve these issues," First Selectman Rudy Marconi said in a news release.
Marconi advised residents they might experience intermittent service due to the necessity of the repairs.
"If you have no power and have not reported it to Eversource this afternoon, please do so again at: 800-286-2000. With restoration below 1%, we are discontinuing the information hotline," Marconi said.
OSHA laws require that Eversource crews must stop their work if a resident approaches, and the town has asked residents not to interrupt crews as they continue to try to restore the remaining homes without power.
There are growing calls for Eversource to reimburse customers for spoiled food and medication during days power outages after Tropical Storm Isaias, which blew through the area on Aug. 4.
On Thursday, Gov. Ned Lamont also called on Eversource to issue reimbursements. U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal also called for Eversource customers to be reimbursed. He went further and said CEO James Judge should resign and regulators should look at potentially breaking up the company.
