Crew Position on Commercial Freezer Troller

I am hiring a deckhand to fish with me for the Southeast Alaska sumner troll season on my 42 foot commercial freezer troller. The job is demanding, involves long hours on the deck landing and processing salmon, and being on the boat for up to two weeks at a time and then in “town” delivering and getting supplies for only a day or two. The troll fishery is open seven days a week from July 1st through September 20th, with the exception of a short closure in August, so there is very little down time. I primarily fish on the outside coast from Sitka to Yakutat. The weather can be beautiful, but more often than not, it is raining, windy and rough. Days are spent catching, cleaning and freezing fish. Attention to detail and a good work ethic are critical. Experience trolling is not necessary. I am willing to train the right person, but I would prefer to hire somehow who has spent some time on boats and is familiar with Southeast Alaska. Pay is a percentage of gross earnings and depends on experience.
