A staged reading featuring four Ukrainian playwrights to benefit those displaced by the war on Ukraine.
The Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings Project is raising funds and awareness of the human toll of this war on Ukraine. Join us to hear the voices of theater artists that have been displaced, in hiding, and fighting for their home.
Excerpts from: "Bad Roads" by Natalya Vorozhbyt Translated by Sasha Dugdale
"Peace and Tranquility by Andrii Bondarenko translated by John Farndon
"Our Children" by Natalia Blok translated by John Freedman and Natalia Bratus
"A Dictionary of Emotions in a Time of War" by Elena Astaseva translated by John Freedman
Join us on April 23rd as we spotlight the work of Ukrainian playwrights and support refugees and the communities they are living in by providing cash directly to them.
100% of proceeds will be donated to Cash For Refugees:
"Founded by refugees, for refugees, we give cash directly to people displaced by the war in Ukraine. We focus on the most vulnerable: women with children, the elderly, and the disabled. No bureaucracy, no overhead, no delays. Cash For Refugees gives them the means to buy what they need to survive their ordeal. It gives them dignity. It gives them hope.
