Description

dTXTransitPosts & Stronger Denton present Through Expert Eyes, a series of walking tours. First up: Walkability around our Historic Square Meet: 1:30PM Depart: 2:00PM We all love the Denton town square, but what exactly makes it so special? One under-appreciated aspect of what makes it so good is how inviting it is to pedestrians. We may drive, bike, or bus to the square, but once we're there, we're all pedestrians. Keeping pedestrians safe and comfortable is essential to a place like the square. Spaces like the town square are rare, so people flock here from miles around. This tour will cover what we're doing right, and what we could be doing better on. This tour is the first in the Through Expert Eyes tour series. Through Expert Eyes is inspired by the book "On Seeing: 11 Walks Through Expert Eyes," in which the author goes on walks through her neighborhood with 11 different experts, and learns how they see her neighborhood. Join us every two weeks as we walk around Denton learning about walkability, zoning, history, and more.
