The Honorable Alexis Herman will be the keynote speak and world-renowned vocal artist, Wintley Phipps will be the entertainer. Judge Quincy Beavers, Jr. Foundation is hosting their Premier Foundation Fundraiser Event and Appreciation Celebration. The mission of the foundation is to provide college scholarships to disadvantaged students who have an interest in attending a Historically Black College/University (HBCU). We are writing to invite you to our premier fundraiser, which will also be a celebration of Judge Beaver’s judicial career. The Premier Foundation Fundraiser Event will honor Judge Quincy Beavers, Jr. for his 28 years of service to the citizens of Smith County as the first Black to be elected as Justice of the Peace. Prior to becoming Justice of the Peace, he worked with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office as a Chief Warrant Officer and Deputy Sheriff, which gives him a total of 40 years with Smith County. As you know, Judge Beavers has been a viable factor to many of us in the community, and it behooves us to give honor where honor is due. There are times when most of us walk in some position of authority and then there are times when we all walk as a servant under someone’s authority. Judge Beavers has held both of those positions. He has served with honor, integrity, dignity, and compassion. The Foundation’s event is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 6 PM at the Cascades Country Club. The Honorable Alexis Herman, former Secretary of Labor (1997-2001) under President Bill Clinton’s Administration has been confirmed as the keynote speaker. We have also confirmed internationally renowned gospel singer, Wintley Phipps as the entertainer for the evening. This will be a celebration worthy of Judge Beavers and will clearly demonstrate our gratitude for the dedication he has exhibited in serving the people of Tyler and Smith County.
