11:30 I Lunch and Learn: The Ever-Evolving Engineering Professional
Speaker: Richard Easley B.S. 1992, M.S. 1994, E-Squared Consulting
Richard Easley will share his thoughts on what CAEE graduates can look forward to as they start their careers. Students will hear of lessons learned when graduates assume they are fully prepared to work in today’s engineering environment. Mr. Easley will present modern engineering practices and methods that require a different dimension of understanding from young (and old) engineering professionals. Come join Mr. Easley as he opens a dialog with students that is based on his engineering experience gained from starting and operating a firm for 24 years that conducts research and contracts with clients in 34 states and 22 countries around the world. Don’t miss the valuable insights from a fellow Longhorn CE graduate (BS&MS) and inductee and Board Member of the UT CAEE Academy of Distinguished Alumni.

Speaker: Jimmy Canning, B.S. 1979, ExxonMobil
Jimmy Canning will give an overview of what the CAEE Department is doing to help students get work experience during their college careers. One aspect of this effort is to work with employers and organizations to generate work opportunities, and we would like to get student input on how to do this.
