Work, live and recreate in one of the most visited destination spots in Western Montana. No experience necessary. Position Summary: This position is responsible for the operation of the boilers and Dry kilns, and for the security and fire protection of the entire plant site, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This position is one of the most important positions in the production of quality lumber products. This operator controls the lumber during the drying process where efficient boiler/kiln operation has an important impact on the quality of the lumber and the value return the company is able to realize from that lumber. Responsibilities: Make watch rounds every hour in areas that there are no personnel present and watch for / report fires, and trespassers. Operate the boilers and kilns and the necessary rolling stock to complete the job tasks. Clean the fireboxes / ash pits, and any other clean-up tasks as instructed by supervisor. Feed proper fuel mix (as trained or instructed) to the boilers. Change kilns out as scheduled and check the moisture of the wood. Report safety hazards, mechanical problems and fires / intruders to supervisor. Complete lubrication of equipment as instructed by supervisor, and complete daily checklist on rolling stock used. Test / troubleshoot and analyze equipment and boiler water. General Requirements: Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, odd shifts and overtime at supervisor’s request. Be physically able to walk the watch rounds for the entirety of the shift. Willing and able to learn basic computer skills. Be physically able to operate rolling stock, clean boilers and heat exchanger.
