Growing, private, international PK-12 school campus in San Francisco Civic Center/Hayes Valley area is hiring to fill a full-time, year-round facilities maintenance position. This is an entry-level position. National Center For International Schools seeks a facilities individual who can join our team and hit the ground running. There is advancement potential. COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster shot required. Experience working in proximity to children is desired. Typical shift is from 7:30AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work independently and in a facilities team environment. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required. 1+ years’ experience in a facilities management role desired. Demonstrable knowledge of and familiarity with a wide array of power and hand tools, hardware and equipment required. Demonstrable knowledge of and familiarity with a wide array of building construction types or trades required. Experience with general electrical maintenance including lamps and ballasts, and panel schedules. Experience with general plumbing maintenance required. Experience with general lock maintenance preferred. Experience managing maintenance at multiple properties preferred. Competence to assess priorities and successfully manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive manner required. JOB DUTIES: Complete work orders as assigned using a CMMS. Coordinate event set up and event breakdowns using a CMMS. Completes all other projects or requests as directed. Work on and around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery, in potentially dangerous environments, handling hazardous materials, some exposure to high noise levels. Maintain all building, recreational and tenant equipment, as assigned. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities (e.g. PM Checklists). Monitors irrigation system to ensure adequate water is distributed to plants and perform light gardening. Traffic management. Coordinate building operations activities around school schedules. Adhere to company and Cal-OSHA safety guidelines and attend regular safety meetings. Respond to daytime and after-hours emergency calls as an alarm company contact person. Manage Vendors by partnering and effective communication to drive results and resolve issues. Ensure Janitorial Vendor is producing quality work per Contract Standards. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires handling heavy objects up to 80 pounds and utilizing team lift methods when heavier. Requires good color vision for electrical and telephone line work. Requires good manual dexterity and ability to use a variety of hand- and power-operated tools. Standing or walking for more than six (6) hours a day. Requires working at elevated levels while standing on ladders, working in tight/cramped spaces and/or in awkward positions for extended periods of time, with crawling, kneeling and climbing involved. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or GED required. Relevant Certifications desired. Note that no premises parking is available. Company's employees are encouraged to commute via public transportation. Most major Bay Area public transit systems can be found within 1 to 2 blocks of premises.
